Erm...

Tomorrow, I will be leaving for Philippines. I was supposed to be sleeping hours ago...since I have to wake up at a time when nobody likes to wake up (4:30 a.m.) I'm going to be so tired tomorrow morning, but that's why God invented planes. For sleeping. Not even traveling. Just sleeping. And maybe I'll do some homework. Of course, I'm probably going to be really bored, so I'll have to laugh at the good times in high school. I'll be thinking of myself "constantly table-ing" and laughing at someone's ineptness, or lack of judgment, when it comes to clothing and style and Mastro's...odd...quotes. I'll even think about controversial times in Ms. Winkler's class and the BAWDY discussions.

I had to do a lot of nonsense today. I started packing this past Saturday, but my suitcase had been rearranged multiple times since then. As you might or might not know, Filipinos pack heavily. For example, we will be bringing 6 LARGE suitcases and 2 LARGE boxes - each 50 pounds. That's a total of 400 pounds of *ahem*crap*ahem*. No, they're not crap. They're toys and other pasalubong (like gifts from abroad) and they make people happy. So basically, we have lots of stuff. And by the way, my carry-on backpack is so big that I look like a turtle. Besides weighing and packing everything, I downloaded a lot of songs and also transferred the songs from Faith's awesome CD to my iPod. Not that you care, but Faith had good stuff on it (and pictures). (Faith has a natural gift, or endowment, for picking the right songs) Thank you Faith :) I also had the honor to eat the two slices of pumpkin pie left cuz we don't want those to spoil, do we? Everyone else in my family is incompetent when it comes to eating pumpkin pies. They just can't do it :)))

I'm REALLY excited and psyched about this trip. I'm so psyched that I'm even blogging about it. Of course, I don't expect you all to read everything, since most of you are Juniors who have no life, which you do not have control over. We just happened to have studious propensity since we found out that our parents will punish us heavily if we get bad grades and don't go to college. Junior year sucks. Anyways, I'm looking forward to A LOT of things. I can't list them all. But I'm looking forward to those street barbeques (I feel bad for those who have never tried such good food) This guy is very proficient in making BBQ...the guy's an expert:

The absurdly awesomely decorated houses:
The pimped out overloaded tricycles:
And how can I forget about the pimped out jeepneys who were so well-painted by deft artists :D

The most important aspect of this trip is obviously seeing my relative again and of course, Christmas in Philippines. We're known to have the longest Christmas season in the world. One of our good Filipino family friends said that I will truly experience REAL Christmas. I know I will. I've spent 9 Christmases and New Year's there, and it's unlike any other. Not that American christmas is bad, but it doesn't compare AT ALL. People who are poor find some way to achieve a consummate happiness. Everyone's happy in Christmas, even if you live in the streets.

I'll be in staying in Lancaster Suites (in case anyone would like to visit me there :D) in Manila. I'm probably gonna explore around...find anything interesting using my acuity for er...interesting things. I'll try to not be cunning and mischievous and not deceive anyone using my English-speaking talents and trickery. (if that makes sense...run on?) Maybe I'll listen in to the conversations of those facile Tagalog speakers.

*Those bold words are chapter 8 VFA, in case you were wondering. Ms. Winkler, I DID MY HOMEWORK!

Word/Phrase of the Day: siksik - basically, it's the action of stuffing an object(s) using every inch of space possible of something, like a bag. We like to utilize and manipulate bags to get the more than the maximum space out of it

For example: My mom told me to siksik my jeans in my carry-on bag, even though my bag was already very full. BUT it still had some space...somehow and somewhere...just gotta find it

Wow. Clearly you deserve an A+ for that, Marielle. I'm giving you a 12/10. Seriously. That was awesome. I'm speechless (yes, that can happen, just not often). We miss you in English class and I'll be checking your blog frequently to see how your trip is going. Love the pics.
